The Summer 2009 European Tai Chi Week, held August 14-20 was hosted by Kin San Tai Chi in Leidschendam, Netherlands. Mike Ross and Sally Rich of MTCA and Steve Roberts from the Canadian Tai Chi Academy represented the International Association of Tai Chi and LokHup Academies and led a week of intense training. Participants came from Canada, France, the Netherlands, Scotland, Spain and the US. All enjoyed the Dutch hospitality, re-connecting with old friends, meeting new friends throughout the week and the tai chi camaraderie. A special thank you to Hanneke and Ben for organizing the event and all of their hard working during the event, as well as a very special thank you to Annie and Gilles for housing us for the week and driving us to and from the airport / workshop location and for the wonderful conversations.
The first set of the day event
Participants included practioners from Scotland, Spain, throughout the Netherlands, Canada and the US.
After a full day and evening's work there was still lots of energy to finish off each night with a set outside.
There was time for a little fun too. Hanneke arranged a hot summer's day treat for everyone.
It is said that Tai Chi can reverse the aging process. After a week of all day tai chi this became evident.
